Pendock acquired by Encasement

TP Manufacturing, which trades as Pendock, has been acquired by Peterborough-based architectural and decorative casing solutions specialist Encasement, from Davidson Holdings.

Pendock is a leading manufacturer and supplier of plywood casings for heating and plumbing and sprinkler system pipework, as well as washroom cubicles, column casings and radiator guards, and has a 40,000sq.ft manufacturing site in Telford, Shropshire.

A key part of the deal to purchase Pendock was Encasement’s commitment to retain Pendock’s workforce and continue manufacturing at the company’s well-established operation.

This assurance has been further reinforced with the signing of a new five-year lease on the building and the recent investment of more than £150,000 in building upgrades and new machinery.

“Pendock is a well-known brand in the decorative casings market and since it was purchased by Davidson Holdings from Alumasc five years ago, the company has continued to grow and develop,” explained TP Manufacturing’s managing director, Richard Braid.

“Pendock and Encasement are leading brands with many synergies, and the acquisition made perfect sense in terms of our product offer, customer service and growth ambitions. We’re all looking forward to working together,” he added.

Formed in 2007, Encasement has maintained consistent year on year growth through the manufacture and supply of casing solutions to public sector and private business in sectors such as residential, retail, commercial and education.

“I believe this is an excellent development for both companies,” explained Encasement’s managing director, Martin Taylor. “By bringing together two specialised and complementary businesses it will not only make us jointly stronger, but also allows us to serve customers even more effectively in a demanding and continually evolving marketplace.”

Davidson Holdings’ managing director, Geoffrey Gestetner, commented: “There are some significant synergies between the two businesses, which was one of the main reasons why we felt that Pendock’s future would be best served by joining with Encasement. Clearly, we’re also delighted that Encasement has committed to continuity of employment for all staff, which was an important consideration for us in the sale.”
