Pendock SafeHeat Ultima and Ultima Plus guards have been designed to provide the ultimate in radiator guard protection by incorporating radiused ‘bullnose’ corners for extra safety where patients could accidentally fall or may be at risk of self-harm.
Both models have excellent low surface temperature characteristics. Where guaranteed temperature control is required, an internal baffle is fitted below the radiator grille. This enables the guard to comply with regulations where surface temperatures must not exceed 43°C at a water inlet temperature of 80°C.
Pendock SafeHeat guards with this feature have been tested and approved by the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) and conform to NHS Estates guidelines.
An anti-bacterial coating is used as standard across the range, which adds a further level of healthcare protection for patients and staff, particularly where infection control is critical. To help maintain hygiene standards, a drop-down lockable panel is fitted to all Ultima Plus models, which allows easy access for routine cleaning, together with inspection and maintenance.
Both Ultima and Ultima Plus radiator guards can be specified with a welded anti-ligature mesh, located behind the radiator grille, which removes ligature points. Please note that the anti-ligature mesh may inhibit convection.
All models can be manufactured to cover standard sized radiators, as well as bespoke dimensions for specific projects and installations. Pendock SafeHeat guards are typically supplied in our standard white finish, but can also be specified in any RAL colour.
