Pendock Radius circular GRP casings are a highly versatile and adaptable solution for concealing interior and exterior structural steelwork, where durability, weather resistance or a wide range of colour options are required as part of a project specification.
Available in diameters ranging from 200mm up to 1000mm, the casings are manufactured from highly durable and scuff resistant glass reinforced plastic with a standard material thickness of 4mm. The GRP casings can be manufactured up to 3000mm in a single length and can be stacked to reach increased heights.
Whilst our GRP casings are commonly specified as circles, as they are moulded, we can also manufacture them to specific dimensions and shapes, such as triangular, elliptical and ‘aerofoil’ sections, to meet the exact requirements of individual projects.
This enables designers to have a high degree of flexibility to specify bespoke shapes and sizes, as well as choosing from a wide range of finishes including RAL; BS and Pantone colours.
Our GRP casings are secured using countersunk mechanical fixings and an optional lightweight support framework. To achieve a seamless joint the two halves of the casing are butted together around the structural column and bonded with suitable mastic to provide a smooth finish.
The wide palette of finishes available, which also includes concrete and quartz effects as well as solid surface matching, enables exact matching to integrate with a building’s interior or exterior design. This versatility of the GRP moulding allows increased design flexibility and freedom for architects and specifiers.
